1. The term immunity comes from the Latin word immunitas which means freeing from burdens. In constitutional law, immunity consists in restriction of legal responsibility due to the function performed (eg a parliamentary mandate) or, in other words, in exemption of a person who enjoys immunity from universally binding legal norms to the extent specified in the content of the immunity.
