1 At its basic level, a military court or tribunal is a wartime court or adjudicatory body with the authority to decide offences relating to war or of a military nature, as provided for in legislative acts, constitutions, or a corpus of military laws. A military tribunal can also operate during peacetime for other forms of military offences.
