1 The Constitutional Court of Romania is the highest court of the land on matters of constitutional law, established by the Constitution of Romania: 21 November 1991 (as Amended to 2003) (Rom) as its ‘guarantor’ (Constitution of Romania, Art. 142(2)). Fashioned after the Kelsenian model of constitutional adjudication (judicial review), the Court has been described as a ‘political-jurisdictional public authority’ on account of its jurisdictional powers being wielded by politically-appointed judges (Muraru and Tănăsescu 270; Ionescu 847; Selejan-Guţan (2020) 137)....
