New dimensions open up for comparative constitutional scholarship due to European integration, not least because it shakes traditional ways of undertaking constitutional scholarship. One challenge is the project of creating a European research area, including the humanities, social sciences, and legal scholarship,1 in order to foster research through new opportunities and increased competition, as it happened with the Single European Market.
