The Constitution of the United States of America is adopted on behalf of the people of the State of Hawaii. This self-explanatory statement, originating in the Statehood Constitution follows the Preamble. The applicability of this section may come into question in the not-too-distant future as various groups in Hawaii work toward some form of sovereignty for ethnic Hawaiians.1
