The power of impeachment shall be vested in the House of Representatives. Sections 1 through 5 and 7 deal with impeachment, a process included in all Texas constitutions and integral to Anglo-American parliamentary law. The provisions from the Statehood Constitution to the present are remarkably similar. Section 1, which has never been amended, vests the power of impeachment in the House of Representatives.
