The Judicial power of this State shall be vested in a court system, comprising a Supreme Court, district courts, and justices of the peace. The Legislature may also establish, as part of the system, courts for municipal purposes only in incorporated cities and towns. Article 6 vests the judicial power, interpreted as meaning, with Article 3’s declaration of separation of powers, that the courts’ power is exclusive and that “neither the legislative nor the executive branches of the government may assume to exercise any part of the judicial power, and the...courts...
